Short-term

- Introduce missions with a risk of failure that would require you to start the mission (or part of it) over; timers that you have to beat (escape the base before it explodes), the ability for the NPC you’re protecting to actually be destroyed/killed, etc.
- Introduce romulan and cardassian as playable factions, with unique PvE and PvP content for each.

In Star Trek Online , Escorts haven’t turned out the best they are weak hulled and sometimes outgunned. Now for a tactical officer there is two new ships . A battle ship and a dreadnought. Tactical is about stealth but also power. Personal would like to see a heavily armed battleship and dreadnought loaded with torps phasers and cannons. These ships should be slow moving but have powerful hulls and weapons as well as shields. They should be flying fortresses and outgun any cruiser. Personal think about six tactical console slots and 6 fore and aft weapon(Star Trek Online Credits) slots would make it!
Hmm stealth could work by not becomming visible until 8km or firing. Would lead to an interesting cat mouse as you keep to 8-10 km and the Klingon constantly try to get close to you. No sure about a dreadnought. You’re just going to become a bullet magnet (so to speak). Perhaps an uber weapon(STO Powerleveling) that takes up two weapon points would be nice? Something that can knock HP’s down by 40% per hit or something?!
Or the Dev’s could just design a class of multi-archtype vessels that fall into this classification. Vessels designed specifically for warfare usable by all three classes equally with global-style BO settings. Of course being designed speciffically for warfare these vessels would have to suffer in the more peaceful areas of Federation function. Just because the Federation is a peace keeping armada doesn’t mean that some part of it makeup would not be more designed for war and those who wish to excel at it.Blessed is the peacekeeper, but its still nice to have the heavily armed soldier on standby if things go wrong

On a science captain, your best bet is pre-emptive sensor scan with max aux power to detect cloaked Klingons before they strike. Also consider using jam sensors if you have time, but there’s a lot of pain already in the air by the time you can react, so don’t hit this FIRST.
Finally, regardless of captain or ship type, you do have a viable escape with max engine power (keybind it!) plus evasive maneuvers. Get outside 10km and you’re safe-be ready to turn back around and help your team if they’ve switched targets, or keep running if they’re dumb enough to keep chasing.
RSP is the first, and only, strong counter to focused fire. If your enemies are coordinated enough to combine their attack with one or more copies of Target Subsystem: Shields, you don’t have much chance. The best you can do is pop RSP, pop Polarize the Hull or Hazard Emitters if you have them, pop Evasive Maneuvers, and GTFO.
